ENGINE MOUNTING

Engine mountings, also known as motor mountings, serve as connecting parts between the vehicle’s engine and vehicle frame. These parts are usually made from rubber and metal. The metal parts connect the engine on one side and the vehicle frame on the other, while the rubber parts provide some flexibility in between by acting as cushions, so to damp vibrations from the engine before reaching the frame, thus preventing the vehicle from rattling violently. Stiffer, high-performance engine mounts can actually improve engine response in some cars and trucks. Despite serving mainly to hold engines in place, stiffer, high-performance engine mountings can actually improve engine response in some vehicles.
